Overview of PINE

BoneheadX PINE (People Identity Network Environment) is social network that connects people together interested in extreme sports in the midwest and beyond. The system is set up to allow discussions of topics of interest and ways to get that information to friends and other social networks (Twitter, Facebook, etc). Rather than connecting to people on general networks, which is great, BoneheadX focuses communication to select topics of snowboarding, wakeboarding, skating, and biking. But it also recognizes that people like using other general networks, so it allows syncing to other social platforms so you don’t have to post one thing in one place, and then do the same thing in another.

So why create a specialized network? For gathering like-minded people and share experiences, make new friends, and allow for finding relevant content in one place. This system has similarities to Twitter and Facebook, it’s not as robust as those types of networks, but it does one thing better, focuses on only extreme sports. People here can share tips on new tricks for snowboarding, a new bike frame concept, a cool trail they discovered, a network like Twitter, you’d have to wade through thousands of posts of people talking about what they ate for lunch.

As we develop this network, we’ll be providing documents for helping to understand how to use it and how to extend it to your other networks. If you would like to see more specialized groups for focused discussions (ie Little Bike, Trails in Michigan, etc), let us know and Greg can create it for you.

Welcome to BoneheadX PINE!

Welcome to BoneheadX PINE. We’ve created this area as a social network for people who love snow, wake, skate and bike; it’s meant as a way to express your enjoyment in these alternative sports and connect to those like-minded people.
